This is the first painting in a new series. It combines a subjective/objective painting with the title of the painting rendered as pictographs. These are based on the movements the mouth makes while speaking the words (and just after the words are spoken). It illustrates the visual qualities of the English language but also the subliminal messages given by language.A similar idea is used in THE WASTE LAND series An explanation of the similarity between images and the movements of the mouth is given by Sir Richard Paget in his 1939 book 'Human Speech'.
